I want to be a Mother and that's all there is to it!!!
OK, this is not something you want your 7 year old son to say but this is exactly what Bryce said yestereday.
Yesterday Chad was mowing the lawn and Bryce was outside moving the toys out of the yard for Chad and spotted a baby rabbit. Well, we have seen several rabbits in our yard and Bryce has tried to catch them before and he has never caught one but he finally did! Chad said he was shocked when Bryce comes running up to him "I caught it!!!" and he has something furry in his hand. Well, Bryce held it for a few minutes and then put it down. Chad found 2 other babies under the slide of their playground. We told the kids we needed to leave them alone and that the mom would take care of them. Bryce tried to convince us that he needed to be the babies mother since the mother wasn't there. he he he Chad mowed but we have one patch of long grass because he didn't want to mow around the slide. :) Bryce checked this morning and only one was under the slide but I think Bryce frightened it out and he left our yard. Bryce is VERY concerned about these babies but I told him I am sure they will be fine but he made a point of praying for them tonight which was really sweet.
Here's a pic of the cute little bunny...
I hope all the moms out there had a wonderful Mother's Day. I especially want to say Happy Mother's Day to my mom. Growing up I know she sacrificed and gave so much for us kids. I love you mom!! I also want to say Happy Mother's Day to my mom-in-law. I know what a wonderful mother you are because you raised a wonderful son! Thank you!
My Mother's Day was not great. Emma had a very hard time sleeping last night. I think she was having bad dreams. She is pretty sensitive to things and before bed she and Bryce watched The Incredibles. Well, Emma woke up several times crying and one time even said, "My mommy doesn't want me." WHAT????? I was so upset by this comment and so I gave her lots of love and even at 4:00a.m. when she woke up again took her into the guest room and slept with her the rest of the night. She actually slept much better there but this morning was very grumpy so I took her home after Sunday School to try to get her in for her nap a little early.
Then Bryce got mad at Chad because he got into trouble by not leaving the bunnies alone and he was mad. Well, we had planned on going out to dinner but Bryce was being such a big stinker saying he just wanted to stay home and not go to dinner that I decided to take Emma out to dinner and leave Chad and Bryce at home ( I was going to bring Chad something to eat and Bryce was going to have a peanut butter sandwich) but when we got to the restaurant Chad called and said they were going to meet us there because Bryce felt very guilty. When they got there Emma and I were already seated at our table but Bryce comes running up to me with tears in his eyes saying he was sorry and that he loved me. It was very sweet and we actually had a great dinner. So the day has ended on a positive note!
